Park Guidelines

The owners, managers and staff of Strahan Beach Tourist Park want you to enjoy your stay, and we ask that you be respectful and mindful of our policies, people, local wildlife and other guests.

When you book to stay with us, you agree to adhere to the following guidelines:

Behaviour

Antisocial behaviour, including verbal abuse, aggression or harassment towards other guests or staff will not be tolerated. Park management reserves the right to ask any individual or group to leave the premises immediately, at their discretion, with no refund provided.

Bookings

You must be at least 18 years old to book a room or site at the Strahan Beach Tourist Park.

Booking prices are based on one piece of equipment (e.g. caravan, camper trailer, etc.) per site.

Camp fires

If permitted, campfires must be contained in the designated enclosures or approved fire pits only.

Under no circumstances may fires be lit directly on the ground. Park management permission must be obtained before lighting any fires. Fires must be extinguished each evening.

Firewood may be purchased from reception.

Cleaning fees

We expect our guests to leave the cabin in a tidy and orderly condition. This includes washing and putting away any used dishes and ensuring there is no clutter. If the cabin is found excessively dirty, such as with a large number of unwashed dishes or a significant mess requiring extra cleaning time, a $100 cleaning fee may be applied.

Communal Laundry

Our laundry facilities are shared, so we ask all guests to be considerate of others.

Please remove your clothes from the washing machines and dryers as soon as the cycle finishes. This helps keep things moving and ensures everyone gets a fair go.

Any items left unattended for an extended period may be removed by staff.

Credit

Want to change your booking? You can hold credit on your client account for no longer than 12 months.

Deposit

A one night deposit is requested at the time the booking is made. Full payment is due 30 days prior to your arrival date.

Discounts

Only one promotional offer can be redeemed on any booking. Promotional codes or vouchers must be redeemed at time of booking. Discounts will not be applied or refunded after a booking has been confirmed.

Please note that when you pay by credit card, the charge will appear as “Strahan Beach Park” on your credit card statement.

Noise

This is a quiet park after 10 pm every night. Out of respect for fellow guests, we ask that noise be kept to a minimum after this time.

Visitors or guests causing excessive noise or disturbing others may be asked to modify their behaviour or leave the park without a refund.

Pets

Pets are welcome within our campground sites and, at the manager’s discretion, may be permitted in designated pet-friendly cabins.

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  • Guests must inform at the time of booking if they are bringing pets, regardless of whether they are staying on a site or in a cabin. Failure to notify us about pets when booking a cabin will result in a $100 cleaning fee, as pets must be allocated to designated pet-friendly cabins.
  • If staying in a pet-friendly cabin, please ensure you don’t leave your pets unattended for extended periods. Also, bring your own pet bedding as pets are not allowed on couches or beds. We will request payment details to keep on file. If pets are found to have been on the beds and sofa, or the cabin is left excessively dirty, including excessive pet hair or damage, a $100 excess cleaning fee will be applied.
  • Pets should not be left unattended. They must be on a leash and kept under positive control by their owners at all times.
  • As a pet owner, you accept full liability for any injuries or damages caused by your pet while in our park.
  • Responsible pet ownership includes promptly cleaning up after your pet and ensuring all waste is disposed of appropriately.
  • Please refrain from using communal laundry facilities and sinks for pet-related cleaning or washing of pet items.
  • Pets displaying disruptive behaviour, excessive noise, or aggression toward people or other animals are not permitted within the park to ensure everyone’s enjoyment.

We kindly request that all guests adhere to our pet policy rules in the spirit of respect and consideration for others during their stay. The responsibility for controlling and managing your pet rests with you.

In cases where the park manager reasonably determines non-compliance with this policy or observes aggressive, dangerous, or destructive behaviour by your pet that adversely affects other guests’ well-being, they reserve the right to request your departure from the park, and no refund will be provided.

Playground

Children and infants must be supervised by an adult at all times. Management will not be liable for any injuries. The use of facilities is at your own risk, with parents/guardians entirely responsible for their children. Offensive or bad language will not be tolerated. Please be mindful of smaller children.

Rubbish

All rubbish must be placed in appropriate bins provided throughout the park prior to departure.

Safety

The safety of our guests is our top priority, and we appreciate your cooperation in keeping the park safe and enjoyable for everyone.

  • Please limit the speed of your vehicles to 5km/h (walking pace).
  • Bicycles may be ridden on park roads only, never on footpaths or grassed areas, and must be ridden at walking pace.
  • Skateboards, scooters, and roller skates are not permitted anywhere in the park.
  • Children under 6 years of age must be accompanied by an adult when using the showers, toilets, and laundry facilities. Please keep your area tidy and use the facilities provided for drying clothes, rubbish disposal and discharge of sullage water.
  • Do not tie ropes or tarps to trees, and please avoid digging trenches on or around your site.
  • Smoking is not permitted within any of the park’s public areas or in the cabins. This includes the amenities, laundry, camp kitchens, playground, games and TV rooms and the outdoor firepit.
  • Children must be supervised at all times for their safety and to avoid disturbing other guests.
  • Please avoid arriving late at night if possible, particularly during winter. Driving through the West Coast mountains after dark can be challenging, especially in bad weather. We recommend planning your trip to arrive before sunset.

Valuables and personal goods

Whilst we will do our best to ensure a safe and secure environment, management will not be responsible for any damage or theft to your personal property.

Washing of vehicles

Under no circumstances is washing cars, boats, motorbikes or any type of vehicle allowed in the park.

Wildlife

We value the wildlife that call this area home and ask guests to treat all animals with care and respect.

Please do not feed scraps to birds or other wildlife, and avoid any actions that may disturb or harm them. Causing damage to trees, shrubs, or any native vegetation is also not tolerated.

Guests found interfering with or causing harm to wildlife will be asked to leave immediately and may be reported to local authorities.
