We’re located at 1-3 Beach St, Strahan TAS 7468, right on the edge of Macquarie Harbour.

If you're coming from Queenstown, follow the Lyell Highway into town, then at the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Esplanade. Then, turn left onto Beach St. You’ll see the signs just before you reach the beach. From the centre of Strahan, we’re a short 3-minute drive or a 15-minute walk along the scenic foreshore track.

Look for the water and you’re nearly here.

We’re just 1.5km from the centre of Strahan - an easy, scenic walk along the water. Most guests enjoy the stroll or bike ride into town for a coffee, meal or local attraction.

Yes! Pets are welcome on all sites, and we have selected pet-friendly cabins too. Just let us know when you book so we can make sure you’re in the right spot.

Yes, they are. Each self-contained cabin includes a kitchen with utensils, private bathroom, reverse cycle air-con and fresh linen. You’ll also find comfortable mattresses throughout for a comfy night’s sleep. See accommodation options.

We do. Both options are available, with easy access to shared amenities like barbeque area, camp kitchen, playground, TV room, laundry, showers, toilets, and dump point.

Yes - our communal kitchen includes everything you need to prepare a meal and share a relaxed evening with fellow travellers.

Fires are allowed in your own contained fire pit. Firewood is available at reception.

Yes, there's a laundry area with coin-operated washers and dryers.

We offer self-check-in for all bookings. You'll receive a welcome email and SMS before arrival with everything you need. You're always welcome to pop in and say hello once you're here.

We run seasonal specials, particularly in winter, for your stay in Strahan. Direct bookings may be cheaper than third-party sites, depending on current offers.

There is limited Wi-Fi coverage. We're working on improving guest access, but mobile coverage can vary in the area, so please be aware that connectivity is limited.

Yes, it’s a great spot for kids to ride. We just ask that they wear helmets and keep speeds safe.

There are so many things to do when you stay in Strahan. Pop to Queenstown to discover this historic town and the unique ‘rack and pin’ railway, go for bushwalks, take a boat to Bonnet Island to see penguins, dine in a local restaurant, catch a play or cruise the World Heritage Gordon River. See local attractions.

Or simply relax! You’ll be steps from one of Tasmania’s most beautiful beaches, where you can enjoy some downtime.

Hot water showers are free for guests staying at Strahan Beach Tourist Park.

It isn’t uncommon on the West Coast to experience ‘four seasons in one day’. A morning shower can quickly give way to a sunny afternoon. Come prepared and you’ll love the variety.

In summer, Strahan can get hot, which is why our beachside location is ideal.

In winter, you’ll need your coats and scarves, especially after dark and in the mornings.

Many guests come to Strahan for the Gordon River cruise and realise there’s much more to explore - railway trips, waterfalls, beaches, local theatre and more. We always recommend at least two nights to make the most of your visit. It’s also a good idea to avoid driving after dark because of the local wildlife.

Booking ahead is recommended to avoid disappointment, but if we have cabins or sites available you are more than welcome!

We will take payment for your first night when you book, with the rest due 30 days before you arrive. You can expect plenty of communication so you are kept well-informed.
