Where the wild meets the water
Set right on the edge of Macquarie Harbour on Tasmania’s West Coast, Strahan Beach Tourist Park is just 1.5km from the centre of town and metres from a calm, sandy beach.
Strahan is a must-visit destination, whether you are in Tasmania for one week or you have lived here for your whole life, and our accommodation is here to make your stay even more memorable.
Welcome to our wonderful holiday park
Strahan Beach Tourist Park owners Karen and Wayland Mason love nothing better than welcoming tourists and hosting guests. With a background operating restaurants, pubs and caravan parks across Tasmania, they’ve spent years creating destinations where travellers feel welcome, comfortable and looked after.
Karen and Wayland took over Strahan Beach Tourist Park in 2022, rolled up their sleeves and got to work improving the facilities - from upgraded air conditioning and replacing mattresses to improving self-check-in systems and freshening up the grounds.
“This park reflects everything we love about this part of the world - big skies, beautiful scenery and space to just be. Our tip? Book for one more night than you think you will need… there is so much to discover here in Strahan and you won’t be in a hurry to leave.” - Karen & Wayland

About Strahan
Surrounded by rich convict history, wild coastal landscapes and heritage attractions, this unique town is the perfect base for exploring the west coast.
Once a busy port for the timber and mining industries, Strahan played a central role in shipping essential resources from the rugged Tasmanian wilderness. It was also the gateway to the infamous penal colony on Sarah Island in the 1800s, where some of the country’s most hardened criminals were sent as punishment for their crimes.
Today, Strahan is a peaceful coastal town with a friendly community, delightful places to eat and impressive views from almost every angle. There is so much to explore and more than meets the eye!
We are looking forward to welcoming you and introducing you to a town that is off the beaten track but rich with history and highlights.
